Fuel Tank Sender is the rear-position level sender in the fuel tank sender and pump assembly, supplied complete with its mounting bracket.

The sender uses a float arm running against a variable resistance track to report the fuel level in its section of the tank. Its signal is combined with that of the pump module sender by the instrument pack to produce the gauge reading and the low-fuel warning, so a fault in the rear sender alone can produce a gauge that reads incorrectly over part of its range while behaving normally elsewhere.

Replacement is normally prompted by a gauge that sticks, jumps, or reads inconsistently as the tank empties.
