Drive Belt for the accessory drive at the front of the engine.

A multi-ribbed poly-V belt that takes drive from the crankshaft pulley and turns the engine-driven accessories, running over the tensioner and idler pulleys that apply and maintain belt tension.

Belt condition governs the whole accessory drive: glazing, rib cracking or missing rib material leads to squeal, slip and underperforming charging or air conditioning, and a broken belt stops accessory drive altogether. Renew the tensioner and idler pulleys alongside the belt where their bearings are noisy or their travel has reached the wear limit, and check pulley alignment before the new belt is fitted.
