Camshaft Cover Gasket - sealing gasket between the camshaft cover and the cylinder head face, for 2.7L Td6 and 3.0L V6 diesel engines.

The gasket seals the top of the valve train, containing oil thrown off the camshafts and preventing dirt and water entering the cylinder head. It seats in the machined groove of the camshaft cover and is compressed against the head when the cover fasteners are tightened to their specified torque.

A hardened or crushed gasket shows as oil weeping down the side of the cylinder head or collecting in the injector wells. The gasket is a single-use item and should be renewed whenever the camshaft cover is disturbed.
