What is the Teflon Band 2.5 Coilover used for?

This is a Teflon bearing band for a 2.5 inch diameter coilover shock body. It fits inside the damper tube around the piston, reducing friction so the piston travels smoothly without metal contacting the tube wall.

How many are needed for a coilover rebuild?

Typically one Teflon band per piston, so a single shock rebuild usually needs one. If you're rebuilding a full set of coilovers, order one band per strut unless your kit specifies otherwise.

Where does this band fit in the suspension?

It's mounted around the piston head inside the coilover's damper tube, part of the axle and suspension system. It centres the piston and stops it wearing directly against the tube bore.
