Timing Tool Set for setting and locking the valve timing on the 2.7L V6 diesel (Td6) engine during front timing belt replacement.

The set holds the engine at the correct timing position so the crankshaft and camshafts stay in alignment while the belt is removed and refitted, preventing valve-to-piston contact. It comprises flywheel locking tools and camshaft timing pins.

Frequently asked questions

What is the GA1120 timing tool set used for?
The GA1120 timing tool set locks the valve timing on the 2.7L V6 diesel (Td6) engine during front timing belt replacement. It holds the crankshaft and camshafts in correct alignment while the belt is off, preventing the valves from contacting the pistons. The set includes flywheel locking tools and camshaft timing pins.
Which Land Rover models does this timing tool set fit?
This timing tool set fits the 2.7L V6 diesel (Td6) engine in the Land Rover Discovery 3 (2005-2009), Discovery 4 (2010-2016), and Range Rover Sport (2005-2009). It's specific to the 2.7 V6 diesel, so confirm your engine is the Td6 before ordering.
Why do I need a timing tool to change the belt on this engine?
A timing tool is needed because the 2.7L V6 diesel (Td6) can suffer valve-to-piston contact if the camshafts or crankshaft move while the belt is off. The GA1120 locks everything in position so the timing stays correct through the job. Turning the engine without it risks bending valves.
What's included in the GA1120 timing tool set?
The GA1120 includes flywheel locking tools and camshaft timing pins for the 2.7L V6 diesel (Td6) engine. Together they hold the crankshaft and camshafts at the correct timing position during belt replacement. The equivalent BritPart cross-reference is DA1120.
