What does the MAP sensor do on a Land Rover?
The MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor measures the absolute pressure inside the intake manifold and sends that signal to the engine ECU. The ECU uses it to gauge engine load, and boost on turbo engines, then adjusts fuelling and timing. It fits Td5 diesel and K-Series/KV6 petrol engine management.
