Frequently asked questions

What is the radiator hose clip (NRC7448) used for?

The radiator hose clip clamps a coolant hose onto its radiator or engine connection in the cooling system, keeping the joint leak-free. Part number NRC7448, it fits the Land Rover Defender (up to 2006) with 2.25L petrol carburettor and 2.5L four-cylinder engines.

How many radiator hose clips do I need?

Typically you'll need one radiator hose clip per hose end, so a single coolant hose usually takes two clips. On the Defender's 2.25L and 2.5L engines it's worth renewing clips in pairs whenever a hose is replaced.

Why replace the hose clip when changing a coolant hose?

Radiator hose clips typically corrode or lose tension over time on older Defenders, which can let a coolant hose weep or blow off under pressure. Fitting a fresh clip like NRC7448 when renewing a hose helps keep the cooling joint secure.
