Gemonteerd op de 2.5L 300 TDi dieselmotor, sluit de keerring af tegen het afdichtvlak van de krukaspoelie/trillingsdempernaaf om olie in de voorklep te houden en lekkage aan de voorkant van de motor te voorkomen. Vervanging wordt aanbevolen wanneer de voorklep, distributieriem of krukaspoelie wordt gedemonteerd.

The ERR4576 crankshaft oil seal seals the front timing cover where the crankshaft nose passes through on the 2.5L 300TDi diesel engine. It runs against the crankshaft pulley and damper hub face to keep oil inside the front cover and stop leaks at the front of the engine.
Which Land Rover models use this 300TDi front crankshaft seal?
This front crankshaft oil seal fits the 2.5L 300TDi diesel engine in the Land Rover Defender (1987 to 2006), Discovery 1 (1989 to 1998) and Range Rover Classic (1992 to 1994). It's the outer front-cover seal at the crankshaft pulley end.
When should the 300TDi front crankshaft seal be replaced?
Replace the front crankshaft seal whenever it leaks oil at the front of the engine, or as a precaution whenever the front cover, timing belt or crankshaft pulley is removed. A worn seal typically shows as oil weeping from the crankshaft pulley area. Renewing it while access is open avoids repeat labour.
