Frequently asked questions

What does the Battery Retaining Rod do?

The Battery Retaining Rod secures the battery into its tray. The threaded rod hooks onto the battery tray and draws the hold-down clamp down against the top of the battery, holding it firmly against movement and vibration. Fits Land Rover Series 3.

How many battery retaining rods are needed?

Most installations use two battery retaining rods, one each side of the hold-down clamp, though some setups use one. They're sold individually. Check how many your existing battery clamp arrangement uses before ordering, since the Series 3 tray and clamp setup can vary.

Does this fit all Series 3 models?

This battery retaining rod fits Series 3 up to October 1984. It's not used on the Stage 1 109 V8. Confirm your build date and model before ordering, since later vehicles and the Stage 1 V8 use a different battery hold-down arrangement.
