Bekledingspopnagel, een 8 x 20mm kunststof druk- (pen-type) popnagel die wordt gebruikt om bekledingspanelen en sierlijsten aan de carrosserie te bevestigen, doorgaans wielkastlijsten, bumpers en exterieurlijsten.

Het lichaam van de popnagel wordt in een geboord of gevormd gat geduwd en de centrale pin wordt erin geslagen om de schacht achter het paneel uit te zetten, waardoor de sluiting op zijn plaats wordt vergrendeld zonder een schroefdraadbevestiging. De pin kan worden teruggetrokken om hem los te maken.

What is the ANR2224 trim rivet used for?

The ANR2224 trim rivet is a plastic drive (pin-type) rivet that secures trim panels and mouldings to the body, typically wheel arch trims, bumpers and exterior mouldings. The body pushes into a drilled or moulded hole and the centre pin drives in to expand the shank behind the panel, locking it without a threaded fixing.

How many trim rivets are needed for a panel?

Each trim panel or moulding is usually held by several rivets, so order enough to replace every one disturbed during removal. On Discovery models the rivets are spaced along wheel arch trims and mouldings, and renewing them all gives an even, secure fit.

Can the ANR2224 trim rivet be reused?

The ANR2224 can sometimes be released by backing the centre pin out, but plastic drive rivets typically lose their grip once removed and are best replaced. Fitting fresh rivets on Discovery wheel arch trims and bumpers avoids loose panels and rattles.
