Frequently asked questions

What does the BTR982 heater hose do?
It's the heater return hose, part of the engine coolant circuit that feeds the cabin heater. It carries coolant on the return side of the heater matrix, back into the engine cooling system.
Which engine does this hose fit?
It's used on early 200 Tdi 2.5 litre turbo-diesel applications, on the return side of the heater circuit.
What's the difference between BTR982 and BTR983?
BTR982 is the return hose, carrying coolant back from the heater matrix to the engine. BTR983 is the feed hose, carrying coolant from the engine to the heater matrix inlet. They're sold separately.
Why would this hose need replacing?
Coolant hoses perish, crack or soften with age and heat cycling. A failing heater hose can leak coolant or lose cabin heat, so it's a routine wear item on older Land Rovers.
