Where is the fuel pressure regulator located?
The fuel pressure regulator mounts on the fuel rail of the V8 multiport EFI system. It's connected to the fuel return line and to a manifold vacuum reference hose, sitting within the fuel delivery side of the engine.
What are the symptoms of a failing fuel pressure regulator?
Common signs are rough idle, poor running under load, hard starting, a fuel smell or black smoke. If the internal diaphragm splits, fuel can typically be drawn into the vacuum hose, which fouls the intake.
