What is the DA6550 tool used for?
The DA6550 is a service tool for fitting the crankshaft trigger (reluctor) wheel to the crankshaft on the TDV6 engine. It locates and seats the trigger wheel squarely so the crankshaft sensor reads it correctly. Overall length 123.5mm.
Why is this installer tool needed?
The TDV6 trigger wheel is known to crack or work loose, which upsets the crankshaft position signal. The DA6550 tool seats the replacement wheel accurately during fitting to help prevent it slipping or cracking again.
Which vehicles does it suit?
The tool suits the TDV6 diesel in the Discovery 3, Discovery 4, Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2013) and Range Rover Sport L494 (2014-2022). It is an aftermarket equivalent of the workshop trigger wheel installer.
