De zelfborgende functie is bestand tegen losraken onder de trillingen en thermische cycli die de uitlaat tijdens gebruik ondervindt, waardoor een gasdichte geklemde verbinding behouden blijft. Vervangen wanneer de schroefdraad beschadigd is of de borgfunctie niet langer werkt.
