Frequently asked questions

What is the M8 Nyloc nut and where is it used?
The M8 Nyloc nut (NY108041L) is a nylon-insert locking nut. A nylon collar in the top grips the bolt thread as it's tightened, resisting loosening under vibration without a separate locking washer. It's used on suspension fixings across several Land Rover models.
Can a Nyloc nut be reused?
Nyloc nuts are typically single-use. Once the nylon collar has been deformed by the bolt thread, its locking grip is reduced, so fit a new one each time the joint is disturbed. Reusing one on a suspension fixing risks it loosening under vibration.
How many M8 Nyloc nuts will I need?
Order one M8 Nyloc nut per fixing you're replacing, as they're sold individually. Since they're single-use, count the nuts on the joint you're working on and replace them all rather than refitting the originals.
