What is the RTC5679 injector O-ring used for?

The RTC5679 injector O-ring seals a fuel injector where it locates between the fuel rail and the intake on the V8 EFI petrol engine. It prevents fuel leakage at the injector body and keeps the intake airtight.

How many injector O-rings do I need for a V8?

Each injector is sealed at both its upper and lower ends, so you need two O-rings per injector. A V8 has eight injectors, so a full set is typically sixteen seals. Renew them all while the injectors are out.

Can injector O-rings be reused?

Injector O-rings should not be reused. Renew them whenever an injector is removed, since a disturbed seal can weep fuel or leak air. Fitting fresh O-rings on the V8 EFI engine avoids rough running and fuel smells after the job.
