Engine Cooling Fan - 11-blade, 17-inch diameter mechanical fan for the engine cooling system.

Driven from the front of the engine via a viscous coupling, the fan draws airflow through the radiator and across engine-mounted heat exchangers to maintain operating temperature. The 11-blade configuration provides the airflow volume required for the cooling demands of VM Turbo Diesel and V8 EFi petrol engines.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ETC1275 fan assembly and what does it do?
The ETC1275 is an 11-blade mechanical engine cooling fan. It's driven from the front of the engine through a viscous coupling and draws air through the radiator to hold the engine at its correct operating temperature on the Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic.
Which models and engines does the ETC1275 fan fit?
It fits the Discovery 1 (1989-1998) with the V8 EFi petrol engine, and the Range Rover Classic with V8 EFi or twin-carb petrol and the VM 2.4/2.5 turbo diesel. It's the 11-blade viscous fan specified for these engines' cooling demands.
How do I confirm the ETC1275 fits my Discovery 1?
On the Discovery 1 this fan is for the V8 EFi petrol within the VIN range FA393361 to WA799999. Check your VIN against that range and confirm you have the V8 EFi engine, as diesel and later builds can use a different fan.
What are the signs a viscous cooling fan needs replacing?
A failing viscous coupling typically shows as engine overheating at idle or in slow traffic, when the fan isn't pulling enough air. The fan may spin too freely with the engine off, or stay locked and roar. On the Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic this can lead to overheating if left.
