Drive Shaft Oil Seal for the front and rear hub assemblies.

This lip seal fits at the inboard end of the front and rear hub carriers, sealing axle oil within the differential and axle housing against the rotating drive shaft. It prevents lubricant loss at the point where the drive shaft exits the hub assembly. One seal is required per hub; two are typically replaced as a pair per axle.

Frequently asked questions

What does the FTC5209 drive shaft oil seal do?
The FTC5209 seals the rear hub carrier where the drive shaft exits into the hub assembly. It keeps axle oil inside the differential and hub housing and stops it leaking out as the drive shaft rotates.
How many FTC5209 seals do I need?
One seal covers one hub, and these are typically replaced as a pair, one per rear hub. Order two if you're renewing both sides.
Which Range Rover models use the FTC5209 seal?
The FTC5209 fits the Range Rover P38 (1994-2001) rear hub on vehicles fitted with 4-wheel ABS. It's not listed for other Land Rover models, so confirm your P38 has ABS before ordering.
