Fuel Injector - Nozzle and Holder Assembly for the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi HPCR 140PS Puma diesel engine, part of the high-pressure common-rail injection system.

The injector mounts in the cylinder head and is fed from the common rail by a high-pressure pipe. Its solenoid is switched by the engine control unit, which sets injection timing and duration, and the nozzle atomises the fuel directly into the combustion chamber. Fuel not injected returns to the tank through the leak-off circuit.

Supplied as a complete nozzle and holder assembly. One injector is used per cylinder; four are fitted to this engine.

Frequently asked questions

What is this diesel fuel injector?
This diesel fuel injector is the nozzle and holder assembly for the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi Defender, spraying atomised fuel into the cylinder. It's an Aftermarket injector supplied as a complete nozzle and holder unit for the Puma engine.
Where does the injector fit and how many are needed?
The injector fits into the cylinder head of the 2.4 TDCi Puma engine, one per cylinder. As a four-cylinder engine it typically uses four injectors, so many workshops replace them as a set to keep fuelling even across cylinders.
Which Defender does this injector fit?
This injector fits the Defender 2007-2016 with the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi HPCR 140PS Puma diesel, VIN 7A000001 to BA999999. Confirm your engine is the 2.4 TDCi, as the later 2.2 Puma uses different injectors.
What are the signs of a failing diesel injector?
A failing diesel injector usually shows as rough running, misfire, smoke, hard starting, or knocking on the 2.4 TDCi. A worn or leaking injector upsets fuelling, so injector faults are often diagnosed before replacing the nozzle and holder unit.
