Brand Denso
Fuel Injector - Nozzle and Holder Assembly for the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi HPCR 140PS Puma diesel engine, part of the high-pressure common-rail injection system.

The injector mounts in the cylinder head and is fed from the common rail by a high-pressure pipe. Its solenoid is switched by the engine control unit, which sets injection timing and duration, and the nozzle atomises the fuel directly into the combustion chamber. Fuel not injected returns to the tank through the leak-off circuit.

Supplied as a complete nozzle and holder assembly. One injector is used per cylinder; four are fitted to this engine.

Frequently asked questions

What is the LR006803G fuel injector used for?
It's a diesel fuel injector nozzle and holder assembly for the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi HPCR 140PS Puma engine. It mounts in the cylinder head, receives fuel from the common rail, and its ECU-controlled solenoid times the nozzle to atomise fuel into the combustion chamber. This is a Denso OEM unit.
How many injectors does a full replacement need?
This 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi Puma engine uses four injectors, one per cylinder, and this part is supplied individually. If one has failed from wear, it's worth checking the others since they typically wear at a similar rate and mixed old and new injectors can unbalance fuelling.
Which Defender models does this injector fit?
It fits the Defender (2007-2016) with the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi HPCR 140PS Puma engine, built between VIN 7A000001 and BA999999. Outside that VIN range the injector type changes, so check your vehicle's VIN before ordering.
Why do diesel injectors fail on this engine?
Common causes are worn or clogged nozzle tips from fuel contamination and solenoid failure inside the holder that disrupts injection timing. Symptoms include rough idle, poor starting, extra smoke and reduced economy on the 2.4L Puma engine, usually traced to one specific cylinder misfiring.
