Front Propshaft

This propshaft transmits drive from the transfer box output to the front axle differential, forming part of the four-wheel-drive driveline.

Universal joints at each end and a sliding splined section accommodate suspension and axle movement while maintaining torque transfer between the transfer box and the front differential input flange. It is supplied as a complete shaft assembly.

Frequently asked questions

What does the TVB100610G front propshaft do?
The TVB100610G front propshaft transmits drive from the transfer box output to the front axle differential on Land Rover four-wheel-drive models. Universal joints at each end and a sliding splined section let it cope with axle and suspension movement while maintaining drive. It's supplied as a complete shaft assembly.
Which Land Rover models does this front propshaft fit?
This front propshaft fits the Defender 1983-2006 (Less V8, from VIN 1A612405), Discovery 1 1989-1998, and Range Rover Classic 1970-1994 (Less Catalyst). It supersedes the earlier FRC8386 shaft. Because of the Less V8 and Less Catalyst restrictions, confirm your engine and exhaust spec before ordering.
What are the signs a front propshaft needs replacing?
Common signs are a clunk on take-up, vibration through the floor at speed, or play and grease loss at the universal joints. On these older Land Rovers the UJs and sliding spline typically wear or seize over time. Replacing the complete TVB100610G assembly restores smooth drive to the front axle.
What does the Less V8 fitment note mean?
Less V8 means this shaft suits the four-cylinder and six-cylinder Defender variants rather than V8 models, and the Range Rover Classic application is Less Catalyst. These driveline differences affect shaft length and flange spec, so the wrong variant won't fit correctly. Check your engine type and VIN against the listing.
