Frequently asked questions

What does the NTC5787 fuel tank cradle do?
The NTC5787 fuel tank cradle is the support that carries the fuel tank beneath the vehicle, bolting to the chassis to hold and locate the plastic tank. This is a heavy-duty specification for the Discovery 1 (1989-1998) and Range Rover Classic (1986-1994).
Why do Land Rover fuel tank cradles need replacing?
Fuel tank cradles typically fail through corrosion, as the steel cradle sits low under the chassis and takes constant road spray and salt. A rusted cradle can let the tank sag or drop, so a heavy-duty replacement like the NTC5787 restores secure tank support.
How do I confirm the NTC5787 fits my Discovery 1?
The NTC5787 fits the Discovery 1 in petrol form from VIN KA053801 and diesel from VIN KA053845, plus the Range Rover Classic. Use your VIN to confirm the build, since tank and cradle designs changed during production.
