Bonnet Release Cable forms the mechanical link in the bonnet latch and release system, transmitting the pull from the cabin-mounted release lever to the bonnet catch.

When the interior handle is operated, the cable draws the latch mechanism on the front panel to the released position, allowing the bonnet to be raised. A stretched, seized or broken cable will prevent the bonnet from being opened from inside the vehicle, so it is replaced as a single assembly with its inner wire and outer sheath.
