Rear ABS Sensor Kit for the Anti-lock Braking System.

A passive wheel speed sensor that generates a voltage signal as the teeth of the rear axle reluctor ring pass the sensor tip. The ABS control module uses this wheel speed data to modulate brake pressure during an ABS event, preventing wheel lock-up. The sensor fits either rear wheel position and connects to the ABS wiring harness via its integral connector plug.

Frequently asked questions

What does the STC1750 rear ABS sensor do?
The STC1750 is a passive rear wheel speed sensor for the Anti-lock Braking System. It generates a voltage signal as the rear axle reluctor ring teeth pass its tip, and the ABS control module uses that wheel speed data to modulate brake pressure and prevent wheel lock-up.
Does this sensor fit both rear wheel positions?
Yes, the STC1750 fits either rear wheel position and plugs into the ABS wiring harness through its integral connector. It's the rear sensor specifically, so if you're diagnosing a front wheel speed fault you'll need the front sensor instead of this rear unit.
What are the signs a rear ABS sensor needs replacing?
A failing rear ABS sensor typically triggers the ABS warning light and a stored wheel speed fault, and can disable ABS function at one rear wheel. Damaged wiring, a corroded sensor tip, or debris on the reluctor ring are common causes on these Land Rover axles.
Which vehicles use the STC1750 rear ABS sensor?
The STC1750 fits the four-wheel ABS on the Defender from 1987 to 2006 and the Discovery 1 from VIN FA393361 to WA799999. Confirm your vehicle has the factory four-wheel anti-lock braking system before ordering, as non-ABS models don't use this sensor.
