Brand Terrafirma

Rear Coil Spring for the rear suspension, fitting between the axle and the chassis spring seat to support the vehicle and absorb road inputs.

This is a heavy-load rated spring set at the standard ride height, intended to carry additional payload or tow weight without the sag that a standard-rate spring would show under load. Supplied as a pair.

Vehicle Model Land Rover Defender up to 2016

Fitment Notes DEFENDER 110/130 — Rear coil springs, heavy load, standard height when extra load is constantly applied (winch and bumper or permanent rear equipment); some increase in ride height without that load. Sold as a pair.

Frequently asked questions

What does the TF038 rear coil spring do?

The TF038 rear coil spring fits between the rear axle and the chassis spring seat, supporting the vehicle and absorbing road inputs. It's a heavy-load rated spring at standard ride height, so it carries extra payload or tow weight without the sag a standard-rate spring shows under load.

How many springs come with TF038?

TF038 is supplied as a pair, covering both rear springs on the vehicle. You don't need to order two listings for a complete rear axle job. Fitting springs in matched pairs keeps the ride height even from side to side.

Which Defenders does TF038 fit?

TF038 fits Defender 110 and Defender 130 from 1983 to 2016, all variants, at the rear. These are standard-height heavy-load springs, so they suit vehicles carrying extra payload or towing. Confirm your model is a 110 or 130 rather than a 90 before ordering.

What's the benefit of a heavy-load rear spring?

A heavy-load rear spring carries additional payload or tow weight while keeping the standard ride height, resisting the rear-end sag a standard-rate spring shows when loaded. Typically chosen by owners who regularly carry tools, equipment or a loaded trailer on a Defender 110 or 130.

When should rear coil springs be replaced?

Rear coil springs typically need replacing when they sag, sit lower on one side, or crack at the coil. A tired spring lets the rear sit low and can bottom out under load. They're usually replaced as a pair to keep the ride height even.
