What does the LR019625 brake pad fitting kit do?
LR019625 is the front brake caliper attachment kit, the retaining clips and hardware that hold the front pads in position in the caliper. JLR describes it as a caliper attachment kit. It's the hardware that comes off with the old pads and gets renewed with the new set.
What's the difference between LR019625 and LR019626?
LR019625 is the front kit and LR019626 is the rear pad clip set. They aren't interchangeable, and ordering by the wrong axle is the most common mistake on these. Check whether you're doing front or rear pads before ordering.
Should the clips be renewed every time the pads are changed?
Renewing the retaining clips with each front pad change is normal practice on the Discovery 3 and 4 calipers. The clips lose tension with heat cycling, and tired clips let the pads rattle or sit unevenly in the caliper, which produces uneven wear and noise. They cost very little next to a set of pads.
