ABS Speed Sensor (Front) - the wheel-speed sensor for the front of the anti-lock braking system.

Mounted at the front hub, it reads the rotation of the ABS reluctor (tone) ring and sends a wheel-speed signal to the ABS and stability-control module. That signal governs anti-lock braking and traction/stability control; a failed sensor typically sets a fault code and disables ABS on the affected corner.

Frequently asked questions

What does the LR001056G front ABS sensor do?
The LR001056G is the front wheel-speed sensor for the Freelander 2 anti-lock braking system. Mounted at the front hub, it reads the rotation of the ABS reluctor (tone) ring and sends a wheel-speed signal to the ABS and stability-control module.
Which Freelander 2 does this ABS sensor fit?
This front ABS sensor fits the Freelander 2 (2006-2014) across all engine variants. It is the ATE OEM front wheel-speed sensor. One is fitted at each front hub.
What happens when a front ABS sensor fails?
A failed front ABS sensor typically sets a fault code and disables ABS on the affected corner, often lighting the ABS and stability-control warnings. The signal it sends also governs traction and stability control, so those systems can drop out too.
Is this sensor fitted to one wheel or both?
This is the front ABS sensor, with one fitted at each front hub on the Freelander 2. It reads its own tone ring, so a fault usually affects only the corner where the sensor has failed. Order per corner needing replacement.
