Frequently asked questions

What is the ADU8981 stud-type cable tie used for?

The ADU8981 is a stud-type cable tie used to secure wiring looms and cables. The stud, or push-mount, foot pushes into a hole in the chassis or panel and locks in place, holding the loom away from moving or hot components on the Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic.

How is a stud-type cable tie different from a normal cable tie?

A stud-type cable tie has an integral fir-tree or stud foot that pushes into a pre-drilled hole, so it both bundles the cables and anchors them to the body. A standard cable tie only loops around the bundle, while the stud type fixes the loom to the vehicle without a separate clip.

How many cable ties might I need?

Cable ties are used in varying numbers depending on the loom run being secured. On the Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic, several are typically spaced along a wiring loom to hold it clear of moving and hot parts. Order to suit the length of loom you're routing.

Which Land Rover models does this cable tie fit?

This cable tie (Land Rover part ADU8981) is listed for the Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic. It's a generic stud-type fixing, so it suits many loom-securing points across these models. Use your VIN if you need to confirm the original fitment location.
