View full detailsCollection Overview
Service and maintenance parts span the consumable and replacement components that become due at regular intervals or following inspection. The collection is organised around filtration, lubrication, cooling circuit sealing, fluid replenishment and general service hardware.
Filtration covers oil filters, fuel filters and air filter elements for engines from early carburettor-fed Series units through to the 300Tdi, Td5, TDV6, SDV6, TDV8 and current Ingenium diesel and petrol families. Filter fitment is engine-specific in most cases, and part numbers vary between generations even within the same model line. The TD5 engine uses ERR3340 (Genuine) or ERR3340M (OEM) as oil filter references. The 300Tdi oil filter adapter gasket is ERR3283. The model filter and product title engine designations are the most reliable way to confirm the correct reference for your vehicle.
Lubrication components include swivel housing grease, chassis greasing tools and grease nipples. Swivel housing grease is a distinct specification from multipurpose chassis grease or EP90 gear oil and is required for the front axle swivel assemblies on all solid-axle models. The STC3435 one-shot sachet covers a single swivel re-pack. A grease gun with hose is also stocked for workshop and field use.
Gaskets and seals include oil filter adapter gaskets, exhaust gaskets, thermostat housing gaskets, thermostat o-rings, water pump housing gaskets and rocker cover components. Many of these are engine-specific. Check the product title for the engine family or contact Budget Parts with your VIN if you need fitment confirmation.
Fluids include DOT4 brake and clutch fluid (LR090832, 1 litre) and MTF 75W80 drivetrain lubricant. Service fasteners include drain plug washers, grease nipples in short and long thread variants, valve cotter halves and general fixing hardware.
Parts are available in Genuine, OEM and Aftermarket quality tiers depending on the reference. For routine service items such as gaskets, o-rings and filter elements, OEM parts are a practical choice where the Genuine reference carries a significant cost premium. A full explanation of quality tiers is on the main Land Rover parts collection page.
FitmentThis collection covers all Land Rover and Range Rover generations. Many service part references are engine-specific rather than model-specific. Where a product title shows an engine designation (300Tdi, Td5, TDV6, SDV6, Puma, Ingenium), confirm that designation against your engine type before ordering. The model filter alone may not be sufficient for filtration components where the same model generation was offered with multiple engine options.
Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005 to 2013) both use the TDV6 and SDV6 engine families, for which thermostat housing gaskets, oil filter references and coolant seals in this collection are directly applicable. Defender Classic and Discovery 2 cover the Td5 and 300Tdi engine families, for which the majority of filtration and gasket references in this collection apply.
Vehicle IdentificationYour VIN contains the engine family code and can be used to confirm the correct service part references for your vehicle. For Land Rover models built from 1997 onwards, the 17-digit ISO 3779 VIN format is standard. For earlier vehicles including Defender Tdi-era, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic, VIN encoding is not standardised in the same way. If you have a pre-1997 vehicle and need fitment confirmation, contact Budget Parts with your chassis plate details rather than relying on VIN decoding alone.
Technical GuidesCovers the most common Land Rover fuel delivery faults when an engine cranks but will not fire, including fuel filter condition, fuel pump prime, inertia switch and crankshaft position sensor. Relevant to fuel filter service across Td5, 300Tdi and TDV6 platforms.
Land Rover fuel system and filter diagnosisCovers why the plastic thermostat housing fails on TDV6 and SDV6 engines, how to confirm the fault before ordering parts, and which components require replacement alongside the housing. The same failure mode applies to the Range Rover Sport L320 (2005 to 2013) and Discovery 3 (2004 to 2009) fitted with the TDV6 engine.
Discovery 4 thermostat housing failure and partsCovers blocked DPF diagnosis on Discovery 4 diesel models, including why upstream EGR faults and failed sensors are frequently the root cause rather than the filter itself. Relevant to exhaust gasket and service hardware requirements around DPF and EGR work.

Fixings and hardwareThis collection covers the consumable and replacement components most commonly required during routine Land Rover and Range Rover maintenance. That includes oil filters, fuel filters, air filter elements, thermostat gaskets and o-rings, exhaust gaskets, water pump housing gaskets, swivel housing grease, DOT4 brake and clutch fluid, drivetrain lubricants, drain plug hardware, grease nipples and valve components. Coverage spans all models from Series 1 through to current production.
Oil filter fitment is engine-specific on most Land Rover platforms. The TD5 engine uses ERR3340 (Genuine) or ERR3340M (OEM quality). The 300Tdi oil filter adapter gasket reference is ERR3283. Use the model filter above the grid first, then check the product title for the engine designation against your vehicle's engine type. If your engine variant is unclear from the filter results, confirm the engine code from your VIN or chassis plate before ordering.
Swivel housing grease is a thick semi-fluid lubricant designed for the front axle swivel assemblies on solid-axle Land Rover models. It is a distinct specification from multipurpose chassis grease or EP90 gear oil and must not be substituted. Models with solid front axles, including Defender Classic, Discovery 1, Discovery 2, Range Rover Classic and Series vehicles, require swivel housing grease as a scheduled maintenance item. The STC3435 one-shot sachet (370g) covers a single swivel re-pack. As a general guidance figure, front swivels are typically re-packed every 30,000 km or following axle work, though the specific interval for your model should be confirmed against your workshop documentation.
Service intervals vary by generation and engine family. For older models fitted with the 300Tdi, Td5 or TDV6 engines, the typical guidance is an annual service or every 12,000 to 15,000 km under normal operating conditions, whichever comes first. Under demanding conditions, including frequent off-road use, wading, sustained towing or dusty environments, shorter intervals apply for oil and filter changes specifically. Models from the L405, L494, L460 and L461 generations use InControl-based condition-dependent service intervals that vary by driving pattern rather than fixed mileage. Always refer to your owner's manual or workshop documentation for the interval that applies to your specific model, engine and operating conditions.
Genuine parts are supplied in Land Rover or JLR branded packaging and meet the original manufacturer specification exactly. OEM parts are manufactured by the same supplier that produced the original component and meet the same specification, but are supplied under a different label. Aftermarket parts are produced by third-party manufacturers to the same functional purpose and may vary in material specification. For routine service consumables such as gaskets, o-rings and filter elements, OEM is a practical choice where the Genuine reference carries a significant cost premium. For fluid-contact seals and components in high-stress applications, the appropriate quality tier should be matched to the age and condition of the vehicle.
The collection covers the main consumable parts used in a service across most Land Rover and Range Rover models. A complete service kit for any given model may also require engine, cooling or fuel system components depending on which interval items are due. Use the model filter to narrow the collection to your vehicle, then cross-reference against your workshop manual or service schedule. If you need help identifying the correct references for a specific model and service interval, contact Budget Parts with your VIN and the service due.
DOT4 brake and clutch fluid is in this collection under part number LR090832 (1 litre). DOT4 is the specified hydraulic fluid for braking and clutch systems across the majority of Land Rover and Range Rover models in the range. Always confirm the specification required for your specific model before ordering, as some current-generation vehicles specify an alternative hydraulic fluid grade.
The electronic parking brake fitted to Discovery 3, Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005 to 2013) requires specific attention during rear brake service. The EPB actuator must be retracted electronically before the rear caliper piston can be compressed, which requires a compatible diagnostic tool. Worn brake shoes and increased cable resistance are the most common root causes of EPB-related fault codes on these models, rather than actuator failure. If rear brake service is planned on any of these models, factor in EPB retraction tooling before ordering parts.
