The track rod end connects the track rod to the steering arm through a ball joint, transmitting steering movement to the roadwheel while the joint articulates as the wheel steers and the suspension moves. The left-hand thread screws into the matching end of the track rod; turning the rod against its opposing threads sets the front wheel tracking (toe).
