Frequently asked questions

What does the FTC4822 driveshaft oil seal do?
The FTC4822 oil seal fits at the front differential output, sealing around the front halfshaft where it exits the differential housing. It keeps the differential lubricant in and stops road dirt and water getting into the housing during wheel articulation.
How many of these seals do I need for the job?
One FTC4822 seal covers one output, so you'll need a single seal per side you're working on. If both front halfshafts are being disturbed, order two.
Which vehicles does the FTC4822 seal fit?
The FTC4822 fits the Discovery 2 (1998-2004) and the Range Rover P38 (1994-2001), both at the front differential output. It's not listed for other Land Rover models, so check your vehicle generation before ordering.
