Frequently asked questions

What is the PAM1144L rubber buffer used for?

The PAM1144L is a rubber body stopper fitted to the Range Rover Classic, cushioning contact between the body and chassis and preventing metal-to-metal contact as the body flexes on its mounts.

How many buffers are typically needed for a full set?

Range Rover Classic bodies use several stoppers around the body-to-chassis mounting points, so most owners replace them as a set rather than just one, keeping cushioning even across all mounts.

What tools are needed to fit a body buffer?

Fitting is usually simple: unbolt or unclip the old buffer and fit the new one in the same location using basic hand tools. No specialist equipment is typically needed.

Where is the body buffer positioned on the Range Rover Classic?

Body stoppers like the PAM1144L sit at the body-to-chassis mounting points, typically near the chassis outriggers, cushioning contact as the separate chassis and body move independently under load.
