View full detailsThe Range Rover Evoque L551 is the second generation of the Evoque line, introduced for the 2019 model year and produced at Land Rover's Halewood plant in the United Kingdom. It replaces the L538, which used the D8 platform and included Ford-derived engine options. The L551 moves to JLR's PTA (Premium Transverse Architecture), a platform shared with the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Jaguar E-Pace, and uses an all-Ingenium engine lineup from launch.
This collection covers the L551 generation only, from 2019 to the current model year. If your Evoque was registered before 2019 or carries a 2.2-litre diesel or a Ford EcoBoost engine, you need the Range Rover Evoque L538 parts collection instead.
For the broader Range Rover model family, see Range Rover parts.
Engine VariantsCorrect fitment on the L551 depends on which powertrain your vehicle carries. The following variants were available across the production run:
Parts that relate to the drivetrain, transmission, or hybrid electrical system often differ between these variants. Where a product listing specifies an engine code or drivetrain type, always cross-check against your VIN before ordering.
Engine and transmission specifications for the L551 are based on verified JLR production data. Current specifications are published on the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque page at landrover.com.
The L551 shares some external dimensions and a small number of hardware fixings with the L538, but the majority of mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain components are not interchangeable between generations. The move to the PTA platform introduced a revised front-axle geometry, a new 48V mild-hybrid electrical architecture on MHEV variants, and a fully redesigned Pivi Pro infotainment system. These changes affect part compatibility across suspension, braking, electrical, and engine categories.
If you are unsure whether a part listed in this collection fits your specific vehicle, use your 17-digit VIN to confirm. Your VIN encodes the engine variant, model year, assembly plant, and drivetrain type. Contact Budget Parts with your VIN for fitment confirmation before ordering, particularly for engine components, suspension, and electrical parts.
Parts CategoriesThe L551's Ingenium engine family and PTA architecture bring specific maintenance and replacement patterns. The following categories account for the majority of L551 parts orders across the EU market:
The 2.0-litre Ingenium units (both petrol and diesel variants) use a pressurised cooling circuit that includes an electronically controlled thermostat, a coolant expansion tank, and coolant level sensor. These components are wear items across the model range and are among the most frequently ordered parts for this generation.
The Ingenium engines require model-specific air filter elements. Filter specification differs between the 1.5-litre three-cylinder (P160 and P300e) and the 2.0-litre four-cylinder units. Always confirm the engine variant when ordering.
The L551 uses a conventional hydraulic braking system with ventilated front discs across all variants. Brake pad and disc specifications vary by trim level and wheel size. The P300e PHEV uses regenerative braking in conjunction with the conventional system, which affects rear pad wear patterns.
MHEV variants carry a 48V mild-hybrid system alongside the conventional 12V supply. The auxiliary battery (12V) supports start-stop functionality and electrical ancillaries. Battery replacement intervals are shorter on vehicles used predominantly in urban stop-start conditions.
The L551 uses a revised front suspension geometry compared to the L538. Suspension components are not interchangeable between generations. This collection lists L551-specific bushes, top mounts, and arm assemblies.
The 9-speed ZF 9HP is used across the P200, P250, P300, D180, and D240 variants. The P160 and P300e use an 8-speed Aisin unit. Transmission fluid specification and service intervals differ between these gearboxes. Always confirm the transmission code before ordering fluid or filter components.
Technical GuidesThe following articles from the Budget Parts technical library provide additional diagnostic and maintenance context for the Range Rover Evoque and related models.
The Ingenium engine family, including the units fitted to the L551, relies on a correctly functioning cooling system to manage thermal load across both petrol and diesel variants. This guide covers the most common causes of overheating, including thermostat failure, expansion tank faults, and coolant sensor issues, and explains how to identify the cause before ordering parts.
Land Rover overheating diagnosis guide →A technical guide to the first-generation Evoque Convertible (L538), covering the structural changes made to accommodate the folding roof, the electric roof system, AWD configurations, and common faults specific to the convertible variant. Useful context for owners and workshops servicing the L538 convertible alongside the L551 hardtop generation.
Evoque Convertible L538 guide →A technical reference covering the L538's engineering decisions and the differences that define it against the L551. Useful context for workshops that service both generations and need to distinguish between platform-specific components.
Evoque L538 engineering reference →This collection covers the second-generation Range Rover Evoque, chassis code L551, from the 2019 model year to the current production run. It does not cover the first-generation Evoque (L538, 2011 to 2018). If your vehicle was registered before 2019 or has a 2.2-litre diesel or Ford EcoBoost engine, use the Range Rover Evoque L538 parts collection.
The engine variant is encoded in your vehicle's 17-digit VIN. Positions 4 to 8 of the VIN contain the vehicle descriptor section, which includes engine and drivetrain information. The L551 was offered with 1.5-litre three-cylinder and 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium units in petrol, diesel, MHEV, and PHEV configurations. If you are unsure, contact Budget Parts with your full VIN and we can confirm the correct specification before you order.
Yes, in several important respects. The P300e uses a different engine (1.5-litre three-cylinder rather than the 2.0-litre four-cylinder found in P200 and above), a different transmission (8-speed Aisin rather than the 9-speed ZF 9HP), and an additional rear-mounted electric motor and 15kWh battery system. Parts related to the engine, transmission, cooling circuit, and electrical system are often specific to this variant. Always specify P300e when ordering these categories.
In most cases, no. The L551 uses the JLR PTA platform, which differs significantly from the L538's D8 platform. Suspension geometry, engine mounts, drivetrain architecture, and electrical systems were redesigned for the L551. A small number of general hardware items (fasteners, some trim clips, certain bulbs) may be shared, but mechanical and system components specific to the L551 platform should always be confirmed against verified L551 fitment data before purchase.
Genuine parts are sourced from the Land Rover official parts network and carry JLR part numbers. OEM parts are produced by the same supplier that manufactures original equipment for Land Rover but are supplied without JLR branding. Aftermarket parts are produced by third-party manufacturers to fit and function as replacements. For routine maintenance items, quality aftermarket parts are a practical choice. For PHEV electrical components, cooling system parts on MHEV variants, and transmission components, OEM or Genuine specification is recommended.
Budget Parts is based in The Hague, Netherlands, and supplies Land Rover and Range Rover parts across the EU.
