EGR Valve for the left-hand cylinder bank, part of the exhaust gas recirculation system on the 3.0L V6 24V DOHC turbo diesel engine.

The valve meters a controlled portion of exhaust gas back into the intake charge to lower peak combustion temperature and reduce NOx formation. It is electrically actuated and monitored by the engine management system. Carbon build-up on the valve seat is the usual failure mode, showing as restricted or stuck operation, EGR flow fault codes and reduced performance.

This reference is the valve on its own and is supplied without the EGR cooler. The 3.0L V6 diesel uses a separate valve for each cylinder bank; this is the left-hand unit.
