Contact Set - Lucas Verdeler is de onderbrekerpuntenset voor de ontstekingverdeler.

Gemonteerd op de grondplaat van de verdeler, worden de contactpunten geopend en gesloten door de verdeler nok wanneer de as roteert. Elke keer dat ze openen, onderbreken ze de primaire stroom door de bobine, waardoor het magnetische veld instort om de hoogspanningsvonk te ontsteken. De set bestaat uit een vast contact en een veerbelast bewegend contact, en past op de Lucas verdeler die wordt gebruikt op de benzinemotor. De contactafstand moet correct worden ingesteld bij installatie.

The RTC364G is the Lucas breaker-point set for the ignition distributor on petrol Land Rover Series 2 and 3 engines. Sitting on the distributor baseplate, the points open and close with the distributor cam, interrupting the coil's primary current to fire each spark. It's a matched fixed and moving contact, and this is the Lucas-branded set.

Which engines does the RTC364G fit?

The RTC364G fits petrol Land Rover Series 2 and 3 engines with the Lucas distributor, from engine suffix D onwards. The suffix letter is part of your engine number, so check it falls in the suffix-D-or-later range before ordering. Earlier suffix engines can use a different distributor and contact set.

What are the signs the contact points need replacing?

The RTC364G contact points wear because the rubbing block wears down and the contact faces erode with each spark, which closes the gap and retards timing. Symptoms include misfiring, weak spark, and hard starting. Set the contact gap correctly when fitting and recheck ignition timing afterwards.
