Frequently asked questions

What is this leaf spring (264563) and what does it do?

This leaf spring (264563) is an 11-leaf front leaf spring for Land Rover Series II and III. It supports the front axle and carries the vehicle's weight, controlling ride height and suspension travel.

Which vehicles and position does this leaf spring fit?

This 11-leaf front spring fits the 88 inch diesel driver's side or the 109 inch petrol passenger's side on Series II and III. Match your wheelbase, engine and side before ordering, as leaf springs are side and model specific.

How many leaf springs should I replace at once?

Leaf springs are best replaced as an axle pair. Fitting one new spring against a sagged one causes uneven ride height and handling. Renewing both sides keeps the axle level and the ride balanced.

Why do leaf springs fail and when should they be replaced?

Leaf springs fail by sagging, losing arch, or cracking a leaf, which drops ride height and worsens handling. Replace them if the vehicle sits low at the front or a leaf is broken.
