U-bout voor veerophanging voor de bladveerophanging vooraan, klemt de as vast aan het veerbladpakket.

De U-bout wikkelt zich om de voorasbuis en gaat door de veerzittingplaat, waardoor de bladveer stevig op de as wordt getrokken, zodat de twee onder belasting niet ten opzichte van elkaar kunnen verschuiven. Een uitgerekte of gecorrodeerde U-bout laat de as over de veer bewegen en verstoort de stuurgeometrie, daarom worden ze als set vernieuwd met nieuwe moeren en gelijkmatig tot het juiste aanhaalmoment vastgezet.
