Frequently asked questions

What is the Rear Shackle Plate and what does it do?
The rear shackle plate forms one side of the rear spring shackle on Land Rover Series II, IIA and III 88-inch models. It links the rear eye of the leaf spring to the chassis mount, letting the spring lengthen as it flexes under load.
How many rear shackle plates are needed per spring?
Each rear spring shackle typically uses a pair of shackle plates, one on each side of the spring eye and chassis bracket. A full rear refresh on a Series 88-inch usually needs four plates in total, two per side. Renew the shackle bushes at the same time.
Does this rear shackle plate fit all Series models?
This rear shackle plate fits Land Rover Series II, IIA and III 88-inch (short wheelbase) models. The Series III version is the bolt-head end plate. Confirm your wheelbase and which side of the shackle you're replacing before ordering.
