Frequently asked questions

What does the oil filler pipe gasket do?
The oil filler pipe gasket seals the joint between the oil filler pipe and the engine front timing cover. It stops oil weeping from the flange where the pipe bolts to the front cover on the 2.25L engine in 24V specification.
Which models and engines does this gasket fit?
This gasket fits Land Rover Series II, IIA and III and the Defender with the 2.25L petrol or 2.25L diesel engine in 24V specification. It seats at the oil filler pipe to front cover joint.
How do I know when to replace the oil filler pipe gasket?
Replace the oil filler pipe gasket when you see oil seeping from the filler pipe flange. These gaskets typically harden and shrink with age and heat, which lets oil weep from the joint against the front cover.
