Bobine voor het V8 benzineontstekingssysteem. Het zet de laagspanning om in hoogspanning die de bougies via de verdeler ontsteekt.

Dit is een bobine van het ballast-type (lage weerstand) die is ontworpen om te werken via een externe ballastweerstand. De weerstand verlaagt de voedingsspanning tijdens normaal gebruik en wordt omzeild bij het starten om een sterkere vonk te geven voor het starten.
