Omschrijving:

Frequently asked questions

What is the Gemmer drop arm nut for?
The drop arm nut secures the steering drop arm to the output shaft of the Gemmer recirculating-ball steering box. It's the correct fastener for the Gemmer 6-bolt box fitted to the Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Classic, in both manual and power-assisted forms. The drop arm passes steering input from the box to the drag link.
Which steering box does this drop arm nut fit?
This nut fits the Gemmer 6-bolt steering box used on the Land Rover Defender from 1987 to 2006 and the Range Rover Classic, covering both the manual Gemmer box and the power-assisted version with the 6-bolt top plate. Later boxes such as the Adwest use a different fastener, so confirm your box is a Gemmer first.
Should the drop arm nut be replaced or reused?
Replacing the drop arm nut is good practice when you disturb the steering drop arm, since it's a critical steering joint on the Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Classic. Torque it to the workshop manual specification. A secure drop arm is essential, so don't reuse a damaged or stretched nut.
