EGR-afdekplaatset vervangt de uitlaatgasrecirculatieklep (EGR) op de 300 Tdi-motor, waardoor de EGR-poort op het inlaatspruitstuk wordt afgesloten, zodat uitlaatgas niet langer wordt gerecirculeerd in het inlaatkanaal.
