Afdichtingsring dicht de olieaftapplug van het carter af, passend tussen de kop van de aftapplug en de carteraftapopening.

Wanneer de aftapplug wordt vastgedraaid, vervormt de ring om een oliedichte afdichting bij het carter te vormen, waardoor olielekkage bij het aftappunt wordt voorkomen. Het is een onderdeel dat bij elke olieverversing moet worden vervangen, aangezien de ring zich dan heeft gezet tegen de tegenoverliggende vlakken.
