Uitlaatspruitstuk borgring die de uitlaatspruitstukbevestigingen aan de cilinderkop vastzet.

De borgring wordt onder de spruitstukbout of -moer geplaatst en wordt na het aandraaien tegen een vlakke zijde gebogen, waardoor de bevestiging wordt vergrendeld, zodat deze niet los kan traken onder de herhaalde warmtecycli en trillingen van het uitlaatsysteem. Deze wordt vervangen telkens wanneer het spruitstuk wordt verwijderd.

The exhaust manifold locking washer is a tab washer that fits under the manifold bolt or nut. Once tightened, the tab is bent up against a flat to lock the fastener so it can't work loose under the repeated heat-cycling and vibration of the exhaust system.

Can the locking washer be reused?

Reusing the tab washer isn't advised. It's typically renewed whenever the exhaust manifold is removed, because the locking tab has already been bent once and won't hold securely a second time. Fit a new washer each time the manifold comes off.
