Oliefilterrotor is het roterende element van het centrifugaal oliefilter op de Td5 2.5L 5-cilinder turbodieselmotor.

De rotor, gemonteerd in het centrifugaal filterhuis, wordt op hoge snelheid rondgedraaid door oliedruk; centrifugale kracht werpt roet en verontreinigingen naar buiten tegen de rotorwand, waar ze worden opgevangen terwijl gereinigde olie terugkeert naar het smeercircuit. De rotor is een onderhoudsvervangingsonderdeel - vervang deze bij het voorgeschreven olieverversingsinterval, plaats een nieuwe afdichtring en zorg ervoor dat het huis schoon is zodat de rotor vrij draait.

What is the Td5 centrifugal oil filter rotor and what does it do?
The centrifugal oil filter rotor is the spinning element inside the Td5 oil filter housing. Oil pressure spins it at high speed and centrifugal force throws soot and contaminants outward against the rotor wall, trapping them while cleaned oil returns to the engine. It fits the 2.5L Td5 5-cylinder turbo diesel.
Which Land Rovers use this centrifugal oil filter rotor?
This centrifugal oil filter rotor fits the 2.5L Td5 5-cylinder turbo diesel engine in the Defender 1998-2006 and Discovery 2 1998-2004. The Td5 uses this spinning rotor in place of a conventional paper filter element, so it isn't interchangeable with spin-on oil filters from other Land Rover engines.
Do I need to replace the sealing ring and clean the housing?
Yes, fit a new sealing ring with the rotor and make sure the filter housing is clean so the rotor can spin freely. A rotor that can't spin, or a poor seal, stops the centrifugal filter cleaning the oil properly on the Td5 engine.
What happens if the centrifugal oil filter rotor isn't serviced?
If the rotor isn't renewed and cleaned, trapped soot builds up and the centrifugal filter can no longer clean the Td5 engine oil effectively. This typically leaves more contamination circulating in the lubrication system. Renew the rotor at each oil change to keep filtration working.
