Aftermarket Part
Aftermarket: Quality alternative. This is a quality alternative, designed to fit and function like the original part, often at a more competitive price.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ETC6661 fuel temperature sensor do?
The ETC6661 fuel temperature sensor measures fuel temperature on the V8 EFI petrol engine and reports it to the ECU. The ECU uses the reading to correct injected fuel quantity for changes in fuel density and to manage hot-fuel conditions, helping consistent starting and running.
Where is the fuel temperature sensor located?
The fuel temperature sensor sits in the fuel injection system on the V8 EFI petrol engine, typically mounted in the fuel rail or feed line where it can read fuel temperature directly. It works as a temperature-sensitive resistor whose resistance changes with fuel temperature.
Which Land Rover models does the ETC6661 fit?
The ETC6661 fits V8 EFI petrol applications: Defender 1987-2006, Discovery 1 1989-1998 (VIN FA393361 to WA799999), Range Rover Classic 1986-1994 and Range Rover P38 1994-2002. Confirm against your VIN, as it suits the EFI petrol V8 only.
What are the signs the fuel temperature sensor needs replacing?
Signs of a failing fuel temperature sensor typically include poor hot starting, erratic idle and inconsistent fuelling on the V8 EFI petrol engine. A faulty sensor can feed the ECU an incorrect reading, upsetting the fuel correction. Symptoms vary, so confirm with diagnostic testing before replacing.
