What does the Swivel Joint Washer FTC3646 do?

The FTC3646 Swivel Joint Washer seals the interface between the swivel housing flange and the axle tube face, preventing lubricant loss from the swivel housing and excluding contaminants from the joint. It is fitted at the swivel pin housing assemblies during swivel overhaul on Defender, Discovery 1, and Range Rover Classic.

When should the swivel joint washer be replaced?

Replace this washer whenever the swivel housing is disassembled for seal replacement, bearing service, or inspection. Reusing a distorted washer risks a swivel housing oil leak, which can allow contamination to enter the hub and swivel bearings.

Does the FTC3646 fit all Range Rover Classic variants?

On the Range Rover Classic it fits ABS models and non-ABS models from VIN JA624755 onwards. Non-ABS Range Rover Classics built before that VIN may require a different washer — check the VIN before ordering.
