Oliekeerring aandrijfas – Voorzijde, gemonteerd in de fuseepenbehuizing van de vooras.

Deze radiale lipafdichting loopt op de voorste aandrijfas waar deze door de binnenste fuseekogel gaat, en houdt het smeermiddel van de as en fusee binnenin en sluit water, vuil en gruis uit de verbinding. Een versleten afdichting veroorzaakt olieverlies en binnendringen van verontreinigingen, waardoor de slijtage van de fusee en homokinetische koppeling versnelt.

Er worden er twee per voertuig gemonteerd, één aan elke zijde.

The FTC3276 front drive shaft oil seal is a radial lip seal fitted at the front axle swivel pin housing. It runs on the driveshaft where it passes through the inner swivel housing ball, retaining axle and swivel lubricant and excluding water, dirt and grit. This is the Corteco OEM seal.

How many front drive shaft seals are needed?

Two front drive shaft oil seals are fitted per vehicle, one on each side. Replace both when overhauling the swivels, since they share the same age and exposure. They fit the Defender (1986-2016) and Discovery 1 (1989-1998).

What happens when this drive shaft seal fails?
