Frequently asked questions

What does the PCH000460 top radiator hose do?
The PCH000460 is the upper radiator hose on the Discovery 2 V8 petrol. It carries hot coolant from the engine outlet at the thermostat housing to the top of the radiator, completing the upper leg of the coolant flow path for heat dissipation.
Does this hose fit the Td5, or only the V8?
Only the Discovery 2 V8 petrol (1998-2004). The V8 top hose is shaped for the V8's outlet routing and differs from the Td5 diesel hose, so they're not interchangeable. Confirm your Discovery 2 is the V8 petrol before ordering this hose.
What are the signs this top radiator hose needs replacing?
Coolant leaks at the hose ends, bulging, soft spots, or cracks when squeezed typically mean the top hose has perished. A failed upper hose can dump coolant quickly and cause overheating, so replace it at the first sign of weeping on the V8.
