What is the RTC3826 swivel housing gaiter kit for?
The RTC3826 kit provides a pair of leather gaiters that seal the front axle swivel housings on the Land Rover Defender 90 and 110 (up to 2016). Each gaiter wraps the swivel ball to keep grease in and mud, water and grit out. Supplied as a pair for both sides.
Why replace the swivel gaiters?
Swivel gaiters usually need replacing when the leather splits, perishes or leaks, letting grease escape and contaminants into the swivel housing. On Defender front axles a torn gaiter leads to swivel wear and stiff or notchy steering. Replacing the pair restores the seal.
Why is this kit supplied as a pair?
The RTC3826 is supplied as a pair so you can service both front swivel housings on a Defender 90 or 110 in one job. Gaiters typically wear at a similar rate on each side, so doing both together saves stripping the axle twice.
